In a groundbreaking achievement, IYF has successfully finalised its registration in partnership with ASDSA, the accrediting professional body for lecturer training programs under Skills for Life (S4L). This milestone is a significant step in advancing the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) pathway designed to enhance youth employability, aligning with the White Paper on Post School Education and Training in South Africa. “This is a first for the system, DHET has planned to design a CPD framework for TVET lecturers and welcomes the opportunity to work alongside IYF in leading this project” Sello Setusha, DHET The CPD initiative strategically aligns with the national focus on reducing youth unemployment, as outlined in the White Paper on Post School Education and Training. The initiative adheres to DHET requirements, ensuring TVET college lecturers’ participation in CPD to enhance their skills and stay current with effective teaching practices. With the support of DHET, this initiative extends beyond its initial success to cover all 50 public TVET colleges in South Africa.
