Our Programmes

High Gear

IYF in partnership with the National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers (NAACAM) and the  Department of Higher Education and  Training (DHET) launched the High  Gear programme in November, 2019. The High Gear programme will run through June 2024.

High Gear is one of three exciting programmes managed by IYF South Africa that is advancing the country’s public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college system.

Skills for Life

IYF, the Embassy of Ireland (EoI), PepsiCo Foundation (PFN), and De Beers Group (DB) have partnered to implement the Skills for Life (S4L) initiative which works closely with Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges in the South African context to equip learners with the life skills needed for academic and workforce success. Skills for Life aims to strengthen teaching and learning in public TVET Colleges, with a specific focus on life skills, technical skills and other fundamental courses.

Skills for Life is currently implemented in partnership with public TVET Colleges in the Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Limpopo Provinces. IYF has a growing e-learning portfolio and practice area that is used in service of these goals .

Skills for Success

IYF in partnership with Google has implemented the ‘Skills for Success’ programme in Sub-Saharan Africa. The program is currently on its first phase of operating across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Skills for Success programme aims to address the employability component identified by organisations. The programme will support learners during their transition from learning institutions into the workforce with career guidance and job placement.
