High Gear is a practical-focussed engineering initiative that aims to efficiently connect the PSET sector and industry by providing TVET students with the necessary resources to ensure their success in the automotive engineering space.

 High Gear not only absorbs current industry trends and requirements into its curricula, but has aligned with various industry partners to provide a pipeline from automotive engineering graduation and placement.

The initiative has also embarked on digitising the automotive engineering space through its online platform, Yakh’iFuture, which provides students with practical online exercises, games and up to date information.

High Gear is determined to expand its reach by scaling its implementation within South Africa, and is currently assessing the viability of introducing Electric Vehicle training into the existing automotive engineering curricula.
